Invicta — A New Melges 40 Campaign for the East Coast

Invicta is a new Melges 40 Grand Prix racing campaign, based at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and racing the Australian east-coast circuit.

Invicta is a Melges 40 Grand Prix racing campaign, based at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and racing the Australian east-coast circuit.

The campaign brings a strict one-design Grand Prix yacht to a season built around RQYS club championship racing, the Manly Main Series and the major Queensland and Whitsunday regattas.

The boat

The Melges 40 is a 12.2-metre carbon-fibre one-design designed by Botín Partners and built by Premier Composites. One-design racing keeps the focus where it belongs — on preparation, crew work and decision-making — while the boat remains a genuine contender under IRC and ORC handicap racing.

The season ahead

Invicta's 2026 programme runs from RQYS club championship racing and the Manly Main Series through to the season's major regattas — Brisbane Race Week, Airlie Beach Race Week and Hamilton Island Race Week. The full calendar is on the Programme page.

Partners

Invicta is sponsored by Wattlestone Group, with Valont as principal brand partner and Travellers Group and Walter Taylor as supporting brand partners.

Race reports, results and photography will be published here through the season — follow the campaign by subscribing to updates below.
